UK Mobile users spending £800million too much!!
In a recent independent study by Top10.com UK mobile phone users are spending £800 million too much on their monthly mobile phone bills.
The study found that the overspend was due to two main reasons
- Firstly out of bundle charges where users are doing things they are not paying for or over using what is included in their plan. For example sending 500 text @ 10p per text with no text bolt on or browsing the net without any data package which can be charged at up to £4 per Megabyte.
- Secondly users paying too much for their basic line rental which gives them too much allowance for their usage. Another example would be a £40 package delivering 800 minutes and unlimited text when the user only uses 400 minutes and 200 texts which could be catered for on a £25 plan.
With contracts getting longer now with the normal minimum term being 24 months its massively important to get the right plan in place. Also most people can make small changes to their plans at mid point in the contract without penalty.
Orange now offer their business users flexible extras which can be added and removed on a month by month basis and they cover things like text, email and roaming during the holiday period.
